The WEKOMM resistance standards of the RS9020A-X series are characterized by the highest precision and open up completely new possibilities for precision measurements. Experiments have shown that the 1 Ω standard (RS9020A-1) exhibits a maximum change of 0.8 µΩ/Ω under a 1 A or 1 W load. Thanks to the extreme stability of the resistors under load, relevant uncertainties can be reduced by a factor of at least 10 compared to standard measurements.
The RS9020A-X resistor series offers two integrated temperature sensors that are placed in close proximity to the resistor elements. One of these sensors is a PT-100 type to measure the absolute temperature of the entire system. A very sensitive thermistor detects even small changes in temperature. Both sensors can be conveniently connected via the front panel mounted connector. Taking the temperature measurements into account further improves the calculated accuracy of the resistance.
Sophisticated fastening and carefully selected insulation materials ensure that the resistance standards withstand mechanical stress and maintain their electrical values for years. The solid aluminum housing protects the components and offers excellent shielding when protective measures are required. Special manufacturing processes contribute to thermal buffering so that short-term temperature fluctuations do not affect the actual measurement. The resistive elements are extremely stable over a temperature range of 20°C to 30°C. This guarantees trouble-free operation outside of standard laboratory environments.
In addition, the resistance standards are constructed completely neutral to thermal stresses. The selected combination of materials does not allow any thermal stresses to build up. High-quality "Low Thermal" terminals made of directly gold-plated copper tellurium ensure the best possible electrical contact.
The resistance standards of the RS9020A-X series are available as 1 Ω standard (Art. No. RS9020A-1), 10 Ω standard (Art. No. RS9020A-10) and as 100 Ω standard (Art. No. RS9020A- 100).
