The MSO Series 5 B with FlexChannel technology optimizes system visibility for complex signals in verification and debugging processes. Each FlexChannel input offers either one analog signal input or eight digital logic inputs (with optional logic probe). The flexibility this offers opens up a wide range of configuration options. The MSO54B oscilloscope has four analog and up to 32 digital channels and is suitable for applications such as embedded systems, three-phase electronics, automotive electronics or DC-DC converters.
The digital channels have the same high real-time sampling rate of up to 6.25 GSa/s for fine timing resolutions and the same long recording length (up to 125 million points) for long-term acquisitions as the analog channels. The extra-large 15.6-inch color display with multi-finger touch function and full HD resolution allows you to clearly display multiple signals and analyses.
Digital voltmeter, arbitrary function generator and power analysis:
The MSO54B oscilloscope contains an integrated, 4-digit digital voltmeter (DVM) and an 8-digit trigger frequency counter for the precise display of the frequency of the executed trigger event. Any of the analog inputs can serve as a source for the voltmeter. The same probes are used for this as for the oscilloscope use. The MSO Series 5B also has an optional, integrated arbitrary function generator (AFG), which is ideal for simulating sensor signals or generating noise signals when performing limit tests. The signal generator enables the output of predefined signals up to 100 MHz and offers a 128,000-point record for loading signals from an internally stored file or USB storage device. The optional power analysis package enables fast and repeatable analysis of power quality, harmonics, switching loss, modulation, ripple, efficiency, amplitude or timing measurements, among others.
Serial protocol triggering and analysis:
The Series 5B MSO offers an optional comprehensive set of reliable tools for the most common serial buses including I2C, SPI, RS-232/422/485/UART, CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, SENT, USB LS/FS/HS, Ethernet 10/100 and MIL-STD-1553. Parallel buses are also supported by the MSO54B (as standard). Serial protocol triggering allows you to trigger on specific packet contents, such as the start of a packet, a specific address, unique identifiers, or errors. The bus signal is time-correlated to all other signals displayed, making it easy to determine the timing relationships between the various parts of the system under test. Decode tables provide a tabular view of all decoded packets from an acquisition.
As standard, the MSO5B Series oscilloscopes have an auxiliary trigger ≤5 VRMS, 50Ω, 250 MHz (>200 mVpp) (edge trigger only)
