Manufacturer number: G/PSINK
The optional TDK-Lambda Genesys+ PSINK module absorbs and dissipates peak power of up to 300W and continuous power of up to 100W, enabling step-down programming up to 25 times faster with a decay time of just 12.5ms, even under no load.
The PSINK module is mounted inside the GENESYS+ power supplies. It allows the power supply to absorb the energy fed back from the load. This can be energy generated by the sudden stopping of a DC motor or the discharging of a battery or capacitor so that the ATE (Automated Test Equipment) can quickly move on to the next test. The internal control logic detects the output voltage of the power supply. If the measured voltage is higher than the desired voltage, the logic signals the PSINK module to draw current from the load via the output terminals, thereby maintaining a constant voltage across the load.
The GENESYS+ PSINK option is ideal for testing electric motors with PWM (pulse width modulation) speed control, which returns power to its source when the motor brakes. Examples include power windows, power mirrors and power seats in motor vehicles. The option can also be used in battery and capacitor tests to discharge after the test is completed. A fast discharge time enables shorter test cycles and simulates normal operation more accurately.
The module is suitable for all Genesys+ power supplies with 1.7 / 3.4 kW (1U) and output voltages of 0-20 V, 0-30 V, 0-40 V, 0-60 V and 0-100 V.
