The RTM3000 series oscilloscopes from Rohde & Schwarz offer a 10-bit analog-to-digital conversion with a memory depth of up to 40 MSa per channel. Signals are displayed very sharply, so that even fine signal details are easy to see. With the interleave mode, even 80 MSa memory depth can be reached, which corresponds to twice the signal observation period.
The large touch display with an image diagonal of 25.6 cm (10.1 inches) and a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels is one of the best in this oscilloscope class. The touch function in connection with the intuitive operating concept makes it particularly easy to switch between the menus, set the scaling, zoom or move the curves on the display.
The RTM3002 oscilloscope has extensive integrated and optional functions as a logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, spectrum analyzer, function generator, bit pattern generator and digital voltmeter. Furthermore, special modes for frequency analysis, for mask tests and for data acquisition of long measurement sequences are integrated, which simplifies troubleshooting in electronic systems. With a signal acquisition rate of 64,000 waveforms / s, signal errors can be found quickly and reliably. The integrated standard tools such as QuickMeas, mask test, FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation), math functions, cursor functions and automatic measurements including statistics enable effective measurements and quickly lead to a result.
Soft start analysis for power supplies
For developers of modern network devices, soft start verification is becoming increasingly important due to the increasing use of digital controllers. The RTM3000 oscilloscopes offer analysis functionality for tracking pulse width modulation (PWM), which is ideal for verifying and optimizing the soft start. The aim of the soft start is to limit the load on the power driver section and to prevent overshoots. So z. B. shorten the lifespan of a battery with a downstream switched-mode power supply converter (SNT) if the input current is not limited by the soft start.
With the RTM3000 oscilloscopes you receive detailed information about the control signal of the switching part in order to implement and verify the soft start algorithm. The software part can be easily developed and tested regardless of the design of the power amplifier.
A voltage probe on the switching element of the power supply unit is required for the soft start measurement. In the case of a simple buck converter, the gate of the switching element is the preferred choice.
