With the (VNA) vector network analyzer Pico VNA108 you have a handy device that offers very high accuracy at a very reasonable price. The space required is slightly smaller than a DIN A4 page and is just 6 cm thick. This means that the VNA fits in any briefcase.
Vector network analyzers (VNA) are increasingly being used in many areas, in development, production and in the service sector and increasingly also in training at universities and in technical training due to the low investment costs. This device is used by engineers, technicians, experts, inspectors and teachers. The cost of the VNA108 compared to bench network analyzers is so low that it is also an option for amateurs and for laboratory applications by microwave experts.
The VNAs can be used to analyze components such as: For example, amplifiers, circuits, modules and complete transmission system components from the telecommunications environment and for data transmission can be examined. The measurements provide information about the linearity of components or modules and the individual frequency components of a signal can be recorded according to magnitude and phase, both on the input side and at the output of a module.
The S-parameters (scattering parameters) can then be automatically obtained from these measurements, such as S11 (input reflection), S21 (forward transmission / amplification / attenuation of the input signal), S12 (backward transmission) and S22 (output reflection factor / output adaptation)
Application areas for the Pico-USB vector network analyzer:
- Reflectometer and transmission measurements in an ATE test environment (ATE / Automatic Test Equipment)
- Measurement of electronic parts and components and for testing ATE connections such as cables, PC boards and wireless applications
- Material measurements such as for geological material, in food technology, life science, the biosciences or in radar applications, e.g. B. for penetrating materials
- Applications in inspection, testing, characterization of components in production and in the service center
- Tests of individual broadband cables or tests in the production process, during installation, when troubleshooting or to detect errors and changes over the lifetime of a cable or component
- Antenna adaptation and tuning
The PicoVNA 108 is programmable and controllable via the USB interface. Despite its small size and low cost, the instrument has a four-receiver architecture "Quad RX" to detect typical errors such as. B. To eliminate signal delays from 3-receiver designs with internal switching paths.
The PicoVNA 108 offers a dynamic range of 124 dB (at 10 Hz) with a maximum noise of 0.005 dB at the maximum bandwidth of 140 kHz. All four S-parameters can also be determined at any frequency in just 190 µs (2-port measurement) - or in other words: 500 points in less than a tenth of a second.
