The Pendulum CNT-104R is a multi-channel rubidium frequency calibrator/analyzer in a compact benchtop unit. This all-in-one device combines an ultra-stable 10 MHz rubidium frequency reference with an advanced 4 channel frequency analyzer. It allows simultaneous calibration of up to four oscillators/clocks on the four input channels.

The optional GNSS control of the Rubidium time base eliminates the minimal aging drifts and provides unprecedented accuracy in a compact solution. The large graphical screen allows you to observe the drift over time as well as the frequency distribution, complemented by traditional numerical and statistical parameters. The CNT-104R offers gapless measurements, a time resolution of <7 ps, a frequency resolution of 12-13 digits per second and a variable gate time setting from 50 ns to 1000 s.

The CNT-104R offers an excellent price/performance ratio and intuitive operation. The graphical displays, such as time history and frequency distributions, enable better analysis of the results and help to visualize trends such as frequency drift. The following features are particularly noteworthy:

Ease of use: The CNT-104R features an easy-to-use touchscreen, automatic settings and the ability to control the device remotely.
Flexibility: The device supports a variety of signal types and offers the ability to set user-defined tolerance limits, allowing precise and individual adaptation to different requirements.
Ruggedness: The CNT-104R meets the stringent requirements of MIL-PRF-28800F Class 3, making it a reliable tool for use in demanding environments.

  • Reference frequency: Ultra-stable 10 MHz rubidium frequency reference with an accuracy of 1×10-12 over 24 hours (with GNSS option).
  • Resolution: Time resolution of 7 ps and frequency resolution of 12-13 digits per second.
  • Measurement modes: Frequency, period, time interval, pulse width, rise/fall time, phase shift and more.
  • Display: Color touchscreen (1280x720 px) for settings, numerical and graphical displays.
  • Control: Local control via touchscreen or mouse as well as remote control via web interface or VNC.
  • GNSS option: Increases accuracy by eliminating the aging drift of the Rubidium clock.
  • Interfaces: Gbit Ethernet, USB (host), WLAN (optional with dongle).
  • Dimensions: 210 x 90 x 395 mm; Weight: 3 kg.

  • Research and development: Thanks to the high measurement speed and accuracy, frequency and phase signals can be analyzed precisely. The CNT-104R captures real-time changes in frequency and phase with a resolution of up to 7 ps.
  • Metrology: Perfect for calibration labs to calibrate up to four oscillators or frequency sources in parallel with an accuracy of 11 digits.
  • Production environments: Replaces up to four frequency counters and reduces test costs. With a speed of up to 170,000 measurements per second, test times are significantly reduced.
  • Field testing: With the GNSS option, the CNT-104R is ideal as a portable reference clock for synchronizing field operations.
