Pendulum Instruments' A800D 2-channel high-voltage linear amplifier contains two independent A800 amplifiers that share a common ground reference and power supply. The device has a fixed gain of 100x and can output a high voltage of ±400V bipolar. Any signal source with an amplitude of up to ±4 V can be used as an input device. The input amplitude should normally be kept within ±4V. The A800 high-voltage linear amplifier is equipped with a 15mA current-rated fine-wire fuse that will blow if the input voltage exceeds 500% of maximum.
The maximum speed (slew rate) of the amplifier depends on the load. When the amplifier is operating within its output current limit, its speed, the slew rate, is 500V/us. This is now the default setting for the A800 series amplifiers.
The continuous output current is limited to 60 mA and the output power to approx. 30 W. If the load requires more than 60mA of current, the amplifier will reduce the voltage accordingly to stay within the current limit.
