Rohde & Schwarz is expanding its portfolio of NGU series source measure units (SMU) with the 4-quadrant SMU NGU411 with 20 W. The successful SMU NGU201 and NGU401 deliver up to 60 W output power or sink power. What all models have in common is that the channels are floating, galvanically isolated and protected against overload and short circuits.
In contrast to the six measuring ranges of the NGU201 & NGU401, the NGU411 offers five measuring ranges for current. With a resolution of up to 6 ½ digits when measuring voltage, current and power, the NGU Source Measure Units are perfect for characterizing devices that operate from extremely low power consumption to high currents in the ampere range.
Using ammeters with feedback gain increases accuracy and extends sensitivity into the nA range.
With a capture rate of up to 500,000 samples per second, extremely fast voltage or current fluctuations can also be captured.
The devices offer fast load recovery of < 30 μs in conjunction with minimal overshoot, even with demanding load changes.
The linear design of the output stages allows the NGU-SMU to source and sink with minimal ripple and noise.
The four-quadrant variants NGU401 / NGU411 are the semiconductor test specialists for universal applications that include many different industries and many different DUTs. They can function as a bipolar power supply or a bipolar electronic load. They have a modulation input to which, for example, an arbitrary generator can be connected so that the device can also function as an AC source.
