N5457A | Stock sale - RS232/UART bus decoding and trigger

The N5457A / RS232 option allows Keysight InfiniiVision oscilloscopes to trigger and decode serial UART bus signals. This is possible for all UART based bus signals. RS232, RS485, RS422, ... The N5475A / 232 option makes it quick and easy to visualize the bus data recorded with the oscilloscope. An annoying counting of the bits is eliminated.

The decoding of the bus data is hardware supported with the fastest decoding rate in this oscilloscope class. The high decoding rate enables random and sporadically occurring events (eg errors) to be visualized quickly and easily in real time. With counters integrated in the software, a statistical overview of the bus data such as number of frames, errors, ... is visualized to the user. For acquisition of the bus data any channel (analogue or digital) of the oscilloscope can be used.

This option requires an InfiniiVision 5000A, 6000A or 7000A + B series oscilloscope with 4 analog or 4 analog + 16 digital channels. Combined with the N5454A / SGM Segmentable Acquisition Memory option, filtering out idle times on the serial bus can make more efficient use of serial decoding. This is especially useful for a long-term analysis of a UART bus.
