Electronic devices must be tested by the manufacturer for electromagnetic compatibility and compliance with regulations before they can be placed on the market. These so-called conformity tests are usually carried out in test laboratories with special measuring equipment and a shielded RF chamber that absorbs the electromagnetic waves so that the immunity can be tested. There is often a wait of several weeks for an appointment for product testing and each test run can cost several thousand euros. If the design of the product then has to be improved, in the worst case scenario the market launch has to be postponed.

The Models.

The EMC shielding tents turn any room into a measurement laboratory. The smaller tents are suitable for the precision measurement of small objects, for example, while the large tents can be used to measure bulky objects. All EMC tents are made from a high-quality combination of materials and metal (two or three layers), which ensures excellent shielding from electromagnetic waves. The materials are perfectly matched and provide an excellent barrier against electromagnetic radiation. In addition, all models include a shielded cable conduit and a textile door with a shielding zipper. These five models are available from dataTec:

The model is ideally suited for the Pendulum EMC scanners of the SCN-500 series.

This model is suitable for the larger EMC scanner model SCN-564.

  • Internal dimensions (W x H x D) 1,350 x 1,180 x 1,000 mm
  • Three-layer material combination consisting of silver, copper, nickel and tin

This one is called table top model, which can be installed quickly and easily on tables. Here, the test device can be tested directly at the workstation. 

  • Average 88 dB shielding performance between 0.03 and 16 GHz
  • Internal dimensions (W x H x D) 1,220 x 610 x 610 mm
  • Three-layer material combination consisting of silver, copper, nickel and tin

The model with a two-layer material combination is an EMC Shielded Enclosure, which, thanks to its size, enables convenient access for interference-free work with electronic devices.

  • Average 75 dB shielding performance between 0.3 and 18 GHz
  • Internal dimensions (W x H x D) 2,150 x 2,180 x 2,150 mm
  • Two-layer material combination consisting of silver, copper and nickel

This EMC Shielded Enclosure has a three-layer material combination which, unlike the PBN2 model, also uses tin to ensure even greater shielding.

  • Average 95 dB shielding performance between 0.03 and 40 GHz
