The regenerative AC load function includes various modes such as rectified CC mode, rectified CP mode, CR mode, CC phase lag/delay mode, and CP phase lag/delay mode.
Rectified mode can simulate non-linear rectified loads with characteristics similar to the Chroma 63800 series AC load, where the voltage and current act in the 1st and 3rd quadrants. Rectified mode supports CC and also CP functions with adjustable current, power and CF parameters.
Phase delay mode, with a phase angle adjustable between 90 and -90 degrees, simulates the corresponding voltage and current conditions under inductive or capacitive loads. Note that in phase lag mode, the current waveform is sinusoidal (current, PF and phase angle as adjustable parameters), and that when the phase angle is set between 90.1 degrees and 180 degrees (between -90 degrees and -180 degrees), the 61800 device becomes the power source. The regenerative AC load function is primarily intended for charging stations (EVSE), hybrid PV inverters, PCS, UPS and microgrid test applications.
