The Chauvin Arnoux CA 6550 insulation meter is a high-quality measuring device that was specially developed for the insulation testing of devices in production, during regular tests or when recommissioning systems. With its robust, construction site-compatible housing, it is ideal for use in various environments.
This device is particularly intended for electricity suppliers, system manufacturers, installers, maintenance companies, research centers and infrastructure companies. It complies with the IEEE 43 standard, which requires that insulation tests on rotating machines powered at 12 kV and above must be carried out with test voltages between 5 and 10 kV.
The CA 6550 offers a comprehensive measuring range from 10 kΩ to 25 TΩ and a predefined and adjustable test voltage from 40 V to 10 kV. The maximum charging current is 5 mA. The device has a large, illuminated LCD display with digital display, bar graph and curve graphic R (t) + u (t), i (t), i (u).
It automatically calculates DAR / PI / DD / DR (ppm/V) and offers several test methods: step-type, ramp-type test voltage, “burning” test, “early break” test or “I-limit” test. A filter to stabilize the measurement results and the conversion of R to a reference temperature are also integrated.
The CA 6550 has a memory for 80,000 measured values and a real-time clock. An optically isolated USB port allows data transfer to a computer and the use of DataView ® logging software. The device is powered by a NiMH battery and an external charger.
It complies with IEC 61557 -1 -2 standards and has the IEC 61010 1000 V CAT IV installation category.
