The 8616 model from the 8600/B series was developed for applications with extremely high currents. With a maximum current consumption of 60 A in the low-range and up to 240 A in the high-range at 1200 W power, this electronic load is particularly suitable for high-current sources - such as large battery packs, electric motor controllers or powerful power supplies.

The 8616 combines modern features such as battery test, CR LED mode, transient and list mode with precise 16-bit measurement and offers seamless integration into automated test environments via USB and RS232. The 3U design with robust ventilation ensures reliable thermal performance even in continuous operation.

Compared to the 8610 and 8614 models, the 8616 offers a balanced ratio between power (1200 W) and current consumption (up to 240 A), but remains at a maximum voltage of 120 V. While the 8614 offers the same current with higher power (1500 W), the 8616 scores with a more compact form factor and lower heat generation. For even more power in larger environments, we recommend taking a look at the models from 8620 upwards, which deliver up to 720 A.
