Seminar TestStand | Architecting Test Systems Using TestStand in Reutlingen, March 27-28, 2025 (TESTST2_RT_250327)

The seminar "Architecting Test Systems Using TestStand" covers the creation and editing of process models for changing test execution with TestStand. The course is based on the course "Developing Test Programs Using TestStand". During the course, you will go through a series of system design scenarios, learning when and how to identify and modify various building blocks of the TestStand environment to meet your specific test system requirements. Upon completion of this course, you will know how to perform test executions across multiple sequences and programmatically control TestStand using the TestStand API. You will also learn how to support test developers, customize test reports, create user interfaces, review code for test programs, and manage the deployment of your test environment.

Overview of the topics:

  • Creating and customizing process models to modify test execution in different sequences
  • Customizing the content of a test protocol
  • Creating Custom Step Types to support test developers
  • Programmatically using the TestStand-API to control TestStand
  • Create and customize user interfaces
  • Perform a code review for a test program
  • Manage the distribution of your test framework

Target audience:

  • TestStand users tasked with customizing various components of the TestStand environment.
  • TestStand users who wish to take the "Certified TestStand Architect" exam

Course prerequisites:

  • Course "Developing Test Programs Using TestStand" or equivalent experience
  • Ability to design and develop test sequences in TestStand that include sub-sequences and calls to external code modules
  • Ability to explain the purpose of a process model and execute a test sequence using an execution entry point.
  • Experience working with LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI or the C programming language
  • Recommended courses (depends on your development environment): "LabVIEW Basics 1" or "LabWindows/CVI Basics 1"
