The Chroma 52906 is a high-precision PXI Express expansion card specifically designed to extend the PXI backplane signals. It is a 3U 64-bit PXI expansion card available for hot-swapping the PXI card. This module allows the PXI BUS signals to be extended to the outside of the chassis, which greatly simplifies the inspection and measurement of the PXI card's signals during operation.

The module is equipped with a voltage meter that can measure the power consumption of +5V, +3.3V, +12V, -12V and VIO. In addition, it allows the shutdown current to be controlled via jumpers. The power is controlled by mechanical switches, which offers high flexibility and control.

Another notable feature of the Chroma 52906 is that it offers an external power supply. This is particularly useful when there is no need to use the backplane power. In addition, the card provides short circuit protection that protects the system and other related components from damage if the PXI card fails.
