Opening electrical enclosures for thermographic inspections and visual inspections of components during operation is dangerous, exposing personnel to potentially life-threatening arc flashes. Now, to increase safety, a FLIR infrared window can be placed as a protective shield between people and the live equipment. This provides better protection for employees and eliminates the need to open enclosures.

All FLIR infrared windows have a secure, permanently mounted lid that can be easily opened with one hand, meaning nothing needs to be removed, nothing can fall, get confused or lost. Thanks to the FLIR broadband crystal, cameras capture visual images as well as thermal images; in addition, light from laser pointers and LED lights passes through unhindered, allowing better visual assessments.
