The two-quadrant architecture of the NGM200 power supply series from Rohde & Schwarz enables use as a source and as a sink for simulating batteries and loads. Rapid load changes, e.g. B. when switching from sleep mode to active mode of mobile devices can be intercepted by the short settling time. The devices are available with one channel (NGM202) or as a 2-channel device (NGM201), with an output power of 60 W per channel. The outputs are floating and galvanically isolated.
The power supplies of the NGM200 series are protected against overload and short circuit. A 6½-digit digital multimeter for measuring voltage, current and power is integrated. With the fast settling time of <30 μs , the very low overshoot even with sudden load changes and the fast impedance control , the power supply units are ideal for the power supply of IoT devices and other battery-operated devices. With a sampling rate of 500 kS / s , very fast voltage and current changes can be recorded. An optionally available battery simulation function imitates the real conditions of a battery supply for a test object.
Fast load regulation
Battery-operated consumer electronics devices or cell phones and IoT devices use very little power in sleep mode. However, the current increases suddenly as soon as the device switches to transmit mode. The power supply of such test objects must be able to handle load changes from a few μA to the ampere range without causing voltage drops or overshoots. With the NGM200 power supply units, the user can determine how these rapid load changes should be regulated. The standard setting "Fast" is optimized for speed and achieves recovery times of <30 μs.
Minimal ripple and low noise
The power supplies of the NGM200 family have a linear control and are ideal for sensitive test objects. Many power supplies usually react to sudden load changes with overshoots and slow recovery times. Thanks to the optimized control loop, the NGM200 series achieves settling times of less than 30 μs.
