Description
FTR-210R | Frequency and time reference, Rubidium, GNSS
The Pendulum FTR-210R is a GNSS synchronized frequency and time reference with outstanding technical features and the ability to provide highly accurate and stable time and frequency signals. This device has been specially developed to serve as a calibration standard in laboratory environments and offers exceptional flexibility through various outputs and options.
The FTR-210R has seven outputs as standard, including 5x 10 MHz, 1x 5 MHz and 1x 1 pps. Up to 4 additional outputs can be added as an option. Alternatively, 4x 10 MHz, 4x 1 pps pulse or 0.1, 1, 5, 10 MHz sine wave outputs are available. In addition, the device offers a programmable pulse output in the range from 0.5 Hz to 100 MHz, which can be activated via a software license.
The heart of the time reference is a highly stable rubidium oscillator, which is disciplined by the GNSS signal and thus achieves stability at almost caesium level. In disciplined operation, the deviation of the 1-pps time reference is less than 10 ns rms with respect to UTC. Should the GNSS signal fail, the drift in holdover operation is typically only 1 µs per 24 hours. The device also impresses as a stand-alone frequency reference with a long-term stability of less than 5x10-¹¹ per month.
An outstanding feature of the FTR-210R is its frequency calibration capability. Thanks to the optional input for frequency measurements up to 400 MHz, the device turns into a powerful frequency calibrator that can perform measurements with a resolution of up to 12-13 digits per second. This calibration function makes it possible to record frequency-dependent measured values such as frequency, period, pulse width and rise/fall time with exceptional precision. The internal memory function allows the storage of up to 32 million measured values per session and up to 1 billion measured values in non-volatile memory.
The FTR-210R is operated via a 5-inch color touchscreen display, which allows easy navigation and graphical representation of the measured values. Alternatively, the device can be controlled remotely via Ethernet or USB so that it can be monitored and controlled from anywhere in the world. Thanks to the integrated web server function, monitoring and data retrieval are extremely flexible.
The FTR-210R also offers a range of optional extensions that can be activated via software licenses. These include the ability to perform TIE (Time Interval Error) measurements, increase the resolution of the time stamp measurement to 7 ps or increase the measurement speed to 20 million measurements per second. The device is also able to create traceable calibration reports that can be exported in CSV format and printed at any time.
