An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) is a sensor whose resistance increases when its temperature increases and vice versa. The NI 9216 is an eight-channel PT100 RTD input module with a resolution of up to 24 bits and a sampling rate of 50 s/s. It can be configured for two different sampling rate modes: high sampling rate or high resolution. The NI 9216 analog input module supports 3 and 4 wire RTD measurements. It automatically recognizes which RTD type (3 or 4 wire) is connected to the channel and configures each channel accordingly. The module provides excitation current per channel. The NI 9216 has a D-Sub connector on the front panel and also features a calibration certificate and double channel-to-ground isolation for increased operational reliability, noise immunity and a high common mode voltage range.
