The electrode in the underside of the probe head of the SX-E 03 is approx. 4 x 4 mm in size. It can be used to localize small E-field sources, e.g. conductor runs, individual components on flat assemblies. The SX-E 03 is a passive near-field probe.
Typically, the probe head is placed directly on the measurement object (high electric field strength). The near-field probe is small and handy. It has a sheath current attenuation and the top of the probe head is electrically shielded. The near-field probe is connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with 50 Ω input.
