The electrode in the underside of the probe head of the RF-E 03 is approx. 4 x 4 mm in size. It can be used to localize small E-field sources, e.g. conductor runs, individual components on flat assemblies. The RF-E 03 probe has been developed for the Langer Scanner.
The RF-E 03 is a passive near-field probe. Typically, the probe head is placed directly on the measurement object (high electric field strength). The near-field probe is small and easy to handle. It has a sheath current attenuation and the top of the probe head is electrically shielded. The near-field probe is connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. The E-field probe has an internal terminating resistor.
