The LF-U 5 H-field probe is used in particular to detect magnetic fields on wide conductor runs, cables, connectors, electronic components and their connections. The probe works in a similar way to a current coupling clamp.
The LF-U 5 is a passive near-field probe. It is placed with its curved underside on the surface of components for measurement. Field lines from other sources that enter the probe straight and sideways are also detected by the probe. The near-field probe is small and easy to handle. It has a sheath current attenuation and is electrically shielded. The near-field probe is connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. The H-field probe does not have an internal 50 Ω terminating resistor.
