The bidirectional DC laboratory power supplies from the EA Elektro-Automatik PSB 10000 series are two-quadrant power supplies that can take on the function of both a power supply and an electronic load. During load operation, the DC power supplies work regeneratively and feed the energy back into the local power grid with an efficiency of over 96%. This efficient feedback reduces your costs.
The EA PSB 10000 series includes single-phase and three-phase devices that, with their wide input range, can serve almost all mains voltages worldwide. The DC voltages and currents are oriented to applications, the spectrum ranges from 0 - 10 V to 0 - 2000 V and from 0 - 6 A to 0 - 1000 A in one device. The DC power supplies function as a flexible output stage with a constant power characteristic, the so-called autoranging, as well as a wide voltage, current and power range. In order to achieve higher performance and currents, all devices have a master-slave bus. This makes it possible to build a system with 64 devices connected in parallel that provides up to 1920 kW and 64000 A.
All models in the PSB 10000 series have an integrated function generator. This allows you to easily call up curves such as sine, triangle, rectangle and trapezoid. Voltage and current curves can be freely programmed using a ramp function and an arbitrary generator. For recurring tests, test sequences can be saved and reloaded if necessary, saving valuable time.
The typical applications of bidirectional power supplies include testing the electrical properties of a battery. The wide range of applications includes cell, module or pack tests, the determination of the SOH (state-of-health) for second-life classification and the end-of-line test (EOL). Other applications include the simulation of batteries as individual cells, modules or in packs. With the help of these simulations, both the energy storage system and the components that it supplies can be optimally designed. The PSB 10000 series DC power supplies can also be used to test the electrical properties of fuel cells, fuel cell stacks and fuel cell systems. They generate highly accurate and reproducible results in all electrical modes. In order to test the resistance, performance and service life of a fuel cell quickly and cost-effectively, users can easily integrate the devices into an automatic test system. The PSB 10000 series is also ideal as testing systems for PV inverters, as they have the necessary simulation unit for solar cells.
