The XLN series from B&K Precision offers powerful, programmable DC power supplies with a maximum output of up to 1560 watts in a compact 1U rack housing. While many comparable power supplies are primarily designed for use in automated test equipment (ATE), the XLN series is aimed at both laboratory users and system integrators who require reliable, powerful and flexible power supplies.
Main features of the XLN series
- Compact 1U housing for space-saving integration
- USB and RS485 interfaces as standard, optional GPIB and LAN interfaces
- External analog programming for flexible control
- List mode for the execution of test sequences with up to 150 steps
- Fast command processing with a response time of less than 50 ms
- Programmable voltage and current slew rates for and current slew rates for optimized load matching
- Internal memory for storing up to 10 device settings
- Parallel or serial connection of up to four devices possible (series mode for high current models only)
- Advanced protection functions: OVP (overvoltage protection), OCP (overcurrent protection), OPP (overload protection), OTP (overtemperature protection) and foldback mode
Application options
The XLN series is ideal for test and measurement systems, new product development, quality assurance and burn-in tests. Its precise control options and versatile interface integration make it ideal for demanding test environments.
The XLN3640-GL variant offers a maximum output voltage of 36 V and a maximum output current of 40 A with a total power of 1440 W. This model is specifically designed for applications that require high current at low to medium voltage, such as industrial test systems and power testing for high current applications.
Differences between the XLN3640-GL and other models in the series
- Higher maximum current compared to other models, e.g. XLN10014-GL. e.g. XLN10014-GL (14.4 A) or XLN15010-GL (10.4 A)
- Lower maximum output voltage than high-voltage models such as XLN15010-GL (150 V) or XLN30052-GL (300 V)
- Optimal for applications that require high currents at low voltages
