The 9830B series from B&K Precision consists of programmable AC power sources that are characterized by high performance, low harmonic distortion (THD) and extensive measurement functions. The series offers a maximum output power of up to 3000 VA and supports both AC and DC operation as well as a combination of both (AC+DC mode). The devices are ideal for use in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, simulating mains disturbances and testing electronic devices under various voltage and frequency conditions.
The main areas of application include:
- Pre-testing for compliance testing
- Simulation of mains disturbances, voltage dips and frequency deviations according to IEC61000-4-11/14/28/34
- Electromagnetic compatibility testing according to IEC61000-3-2
- Testing of consumer electronics, household appliances, industrial equipment and avionics systems
- Evaluation of transformers, TRIACs, SCRs and passive components
The 9832B model is one of the variants of the 9830B series with a maximum output power of 2000 VA. The voltage ranges are 0 to 150 V or 0 to 300 V (AC), or 0 to ±212 V or 0 to ±424 V (DC). Compared to the 9833B model (3000 VA), the 9832B offers lower power and current capacity, but is still powerful enough for many test applications.
Differences to other variants of the 9830B series:
- The 9832B model offers a maximum power of 2000 VA, while the 9833B model delivers up to 3000 VA.
- The maximum current differs accordingly: 20 A (at 150 V) and 10 A (at 300 V) for the 9832B, while the 9833B offers 30 A and 15 A respectively.
- The other functions and interfaces are the same in both models.
The 9832B model offers a precise, reliable and versatile solution for demanding testing requirements in the electronics and industrial sectors.
