The 8601 model of the 8600/B series from B&K Precision is a powerful, programmable DC load with a compact design. It is ideal for precise testing of DC sources such as power supplies, chargers, batteries and other DC supplies. With high measurement resolution, fast transient processing and support for various load modes, the 8601 offers a flexible platform for development and production tests.
Configuration can be carried out directly via the front panel or remotely programmed via USB or RS232 interface. The automatic battery test mode and the CR LED function extend the application possibilities to LED driver tests and battery discharge tests. With its increased current capacity of up to 60 A, the 8601 is particularly suitable for applications with higher currents at moderate voltages.
Compared to the entry-level 8600 model, the 8601 offers twice the current capacity at the same maximum voltage, thus extending the range of applications to more power-intensive devices and sources. In contrast to the 8602, the voltage is limited to 120 V, but this is sufficient for many laboratory applications. With its 2U half-rack format, the 8601 remains compact and easy to integrate into existing test setups. Anyone requiring higher voltages (up to 500 V) should opt for the 8602, while the 8600 is the better choice for simple, space-saving applications with moderate requirements.
