The programmable DC load 8600 from B&K Precision's 8600/B series offers the power of modular system loads in a compact desktop unit. It is ideal for testing and evaluating a wide range of DC sources such as power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, chargers and photovoltaic systems.
With support for CC, CV, CR and CW operating modes as well as dynamic load behavior with fast switching times, the model 8600 allows extensive testing options - even in CR-LED or battery test mode. All parameters can be conveniently controlled via the front panel or remotely. The integrated USB and RS232 interfaces (GPIB optional for model 8600 without "B") enable integration into automated test environments.
The 8600/B series includes numerous models with different power and voltage/current combinations. The 8600 model is the compact entry-level model with 150 W power and a maximum current of 30 A. Compared to more powerful variants such as the 8601 (60 A) or the 8602 (500 V), it is particularly suitable for applications with lower voltage and current requirements. The models from 8610/B upwards are designed for higher loads up to 720 A or 6000 W and offer extended cooling and greater reliability in continuous operation thanks to their larger housing (3U or 6U). Due to its small size, the 8600 remains particularly attractive for laboratories with limited space or for mobile test setups.
