The 5492C model is a high-precision 5½-digit benchtop digital multimeter from the 5490C series from B&K Precision. It offers fast, stable readings with a basic accuracy of 0.010 % (100 ppm) in the DC voltage range. The versatile measurement functions, combined with intuitive operation via a large color display, make the device ideal for demanding measurement tasks in development, production, service and quality assurance.

The device is suitable for a wide range of measurement tasks such as voltage, current, resistance, frequency, capacitance, temperature and diode measurements. Thanks to the dual measurement display, trend diagrams, histograms and statistical analysis, the multimeter is a powerful tool for modern test benches and laboratories.

The 5490C series includes four main models: 5492C, 5492CGPIB, 5493C and 5493CGPIB. The 5492C model offers a resolution of 5½ digits and therefore represents a solid middle ground between measurement accuracy and price. Compared to the 5493C version (6½ digits), it has a slightly lower resolution and accuracy (DCV: 100 ppm vs. 35 ppm), but is ideal for standard applications. The GPIB versions (5492CGPIB and 5493CGPIB) offer additional connection options for system integration in automated test environments. In addition, only the 6½-digit models have rear input terminals, which makes them particularly suitable for rack mounting.
