Not every thermal imaging camera is suitable for precise body temperature screening, e.g. for checking body temperature to prevent COVID-19 diseases. In order to obtain processable data, you need sufficient thermal image resolution and measurement accuracy as well as the right preparation and scanning method.
The thermal imaging cameras of the Flir EST models (Elevated Skin Temperature) were specially developed to capture thermal radiation in the relevant temperature range as accurately as possible. The Flir EST thermal imaging cameras are used as a contactless screening tool to detect differences in skin surface temperature and changes in the pattern and are therefore considered very safe. Dual screening and an auto screening mode are offered as additional options for the EST cameras. This means you can set up an automatic control point easily and without much effort.

The Flir E86-EST (item no.: 78522-2202) is characterized by an optimized temperature range of 15° C - 45° C, a resolution of 464 x 348 pixels and a 42° lens. The focus is automatic.
The Flir E86-EST is also available with a 24° lens (item no. 78521-2102).
