The NHR 9420 Series AC Sources redefine the selection of an AC source by considering reactive power compensation of capacitive or inductive elements in the load. Reactive power reduces part of the rated VA power and is often overlooked when sizing an AC source. Traditional AC sources only report their VA value, leaving it up to the user to figure out how much real power is really left after reducing the reactive power. In many cases, this reduction is significant and then requires the selection of a much larger VA-weighted source than originally thought. The increased cost and size penalties are often significant.
