The DC laboratory power supplies of the EA Elektro-Automatik PS 10000 series convert the energy from the mains into a regulated DC voltage with an efficiency of over 96%. The PS 10000 series includes single-phase and three-phase devices that, with their wide input range, can serve almost all mains voltages worldwide.
The DC voltages and currents are oriented to the application, the spectrum ranges from 0 - 60 V to 0 - 2000 V and from 0 - 6 A to 0 - 1000 A in one device. The DC power supplies act as a flexible output stage with a constant performance characteristic, the so-called autoranging, as well as a large voltage, current and power range.
In order to achieve higher power and currents, all devices have a master-slave bus. With 64 devices connected in parallel, this enables a system to be set up that provides up to 1920 kW and 64000 A. This system works like a single device and can consist of different power classes, only the voltage class must match. For example, you can set up a 75 kW system from two 30 kW and one 15 kW devices from the PS 10000 series. In addition, typical functionalities from the laboratory area are available. This includes alarm and warning management, various digital interfaces, software solutions and many other functions.
The EA PS 10000 power supplies are ideal for testing relays in production. The coils of the DC relays and the contacts are supplied with precisely defined voltages and currents. When testing the coils, important parameters such as response, operating, holding and dropout currents as well as the associated voltages must be checked and documented. Not only the current carrying capacity and the contact resistance are important parameters for the contacts, but also the dielectric strength and breaking capacity say a lot about the quality of the products.
In an on-board charger test (OBC), its electrical properties must be checked under various conditions. This requires a flexible test system that also provides measurement data. With the sequencing & logging function, test sequences can be loaded into the PS 10000 devices and data can be read out and saved. In this way, you can generate reproducible test results based on dynamic and highly accurate setting and measurement data in the shortest possible time. In order to prevent the two separate control circuits of the device under test (DUT) and the test device from oscillating against each other during testing, the control dynamics of the power supplies can be adjusted: The PS 10000 devices can be set using the three modes Normal, Fast and Slow match the control properties of the on-board charger.
The PS 10080-1000 variant of the PS 10000 power supply series presented here measures 4 HE (4U) and has 0 – 80 V, 0 – 1,000 A, 0 – 30,000 W.
