62360D-2000HL | Programmable bidirectional DC power supply unit up to 2000 V / 180 A / 36 kW

The Chroma 62360D-2000HL is a programmable, bidirectional DC power supply with a maximum output of 36 kW, specially developed for applications that require flexible voltage and current regulation. It is part of the Chroma 62000D bidirectional power supply series, which is particularly suitable for test applications in the fields of renewable energy, battery storage and electric drives.

The main features of the 62360D-2000HL include a dual output range: In "low" mode, it can deliver up to 650 V at 180 A, while in "high" mode, voltages of up to 2000 V at 60 A can be achieved. This flexibility makes the device ideal for applications that require both high voltages and high currents, such as battery testing or testing inverters for photovoltaic systems.

The HL (high-low) models of the 62000D series, which include the 62360D-2000HL, offer a clear advantage over the standard models, which only offer a fixed voltage and current combination, thanks to their dual output range. This makes it possible to cover a wider range of test requirements with just one device, without the need for an additional power supply. This advantage is particularly reflected in test environments that frequently need to switch between different voltage and current values.

Compared to other models in the series, which are designed for 600 V or 1200 V, for example, the 62360D-2000HL not only offers a higher voltage capability, but also an improved power density. It achieves an efficiency of over 93.6 %, both in source and sink mode, and can feed energy back into the grid thanks to the bidirectional function. This regenerative function not only saves energy, but also reduces the need for separate loads, which considerably simplifies the space requirement and configuration in the test setup.

The HL models of the 62000D series also have a fast response time of less than 1.5 ms for load changes from -90 % to +90 %, which is crucial for tests of highly dynamic systems such as motor controllers or inverters. This speed is particularly advantageous in applications where fast switching between different operating states is required, such as when simulating driving conditions for electric drives or battery charging tests.

Another technical highlight of the 62360D-2000HL is the precise control of voltage and current slew rates. This makes it possible to finely control the voltage slew rate in the range from 0.0001 V/ms to 200 V/ms and the current slew rate from 0.0001 A/ms to 90 A/ms. This allows developers to perform detailed tests with reproducible and controlled conditions without the need for manual adjustments to the test hardware.
