The B&K Precision 5491B is a powerful true RMS bench multimeter with high resolution and dual display, which is ideal for demanding measurement applications in laboratories, production environments, development and service. Its high accuracy, fast measurement rate and extensive interfaces make it particularly suitable for professional users. In addition to the standard measurement functions, the device offers integrated mathematical functions such as relative value measurement, max/min, dBm, dB, percentage display, hold and comparison mode as well as a convenient limit value check with acoustic signal. The device can be fully remote-controlled and integrated into automated test environments via USB and RS232.
Compared to the cheaper 2831E model, the 5491B offers a significantly higher resolution (50.000 counts vs. 20,000 counts) and better basic accuracy for DC voltage measurements (±0.02% vs. ±0.03%). It also has an RS232 interface and is SCPI compatible, making it ideal for automated test environments. The frequency ranges for AC measurements and the accuracy for current and resistance measurements have also been extended in the 5491B. The 5491B is therefore primarily aimed at professional users with higher requirements for precision, data integration and versatility.
